Wine Tasting Holiday to Styria
Itinerary
On the first day of your wine-tasting holidays, we will head over to Maribor, the second-largest Slovenian city, where we will visit the oldest vineyard and one of the biggest and oldest wine cellars in Europe.
After lunch, we will head to the famous heart-shaped road amid the picturesque vineyards and rolling hills. The day’s last stop will be by one of the boutique winemakers, where you will delve even deeper into the world of different tastes.
After you wake up and finish a hearty breakfast, we will head over to the village of Jeruzalem, where we will stop at the Oil Mill, which is famous for producing quality pumpkin seed oil.
Once you have tasted the local delicacies, we will head to a local winemaker for the first tasting of the day. If time permits, there will be some free time to explore the scenic surroundings before we head to dinner with obligatory wine pairing.
The day begins with a drive to Haloze, a wine-growing county of rolling hills and valleys in between. We will start with a wine tasting and continue with lunch at a local restaurant. Once you are well-fed, we will begin with the second wine tasting of the day.
After we are done, you will have some free time to explore the surrounding nature and relax.
Today, you will have two options to commence your day: an e-bike tour around the area of Jeruzalem or relaxing at the spa until lunch. After the main meal of the day, we will continue with our program and hit the 40-kilometer-long Jeruzalem wine road that will serve you some unique and unforgettable views.
The day will finish in style — we will visit a local winery and toast to a well-spent day.
You cannot visit the Štajerska region without visiting Slovenia’s oldest town — Ptuj. Rich with culture and surrounding scenery, Ptuj is a worthy last-day destination. Before we return to Ljubljana, we will pay a visit to another wine cellar and reflect on the week we spent together.
We will reach Ljubljana by early evening.
